I could already tell by now that Nicole is a woman of faith, she has her core principles and she lived by them. She had a faith that could not be shaken. Those are some great values of a strong woman.

N: Someone once told me that forgiveness is hard to do, but in order to have a fulfilling life, one must do it.

I couldn’t agree with her more. Susan Sommers once said, “Forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself”.

B: How long did it take for you to write this book?

N: The first part was done 4, maybe 5 years ago. I put it down for a while and 2 years ago I finished it. So all together I would say it took me 1 year to finish it.

B: What was your greatest struggle in writing your book Nicole?
N: Oh, the male character. The novel is about adultery and I didn’t want him to just be looked upon as a completely ‘bad guy’. I wanted people to also understand where he was coming from.

B: I must tell you that I especially love the cover of your book, did you play a role in designing it?

N: Thanks Bernice, I’ve had a lot of compliments from others about the book’s cover. The designers at Urban Christian—my publisher—came up with that beautiful cover. I think it is a model whose picture they used. I love it.

B: It is certainly eye-catching. And the title rocks as well. I think we have a bestseller in our hands Nicole.

N: Thanks Bernice, I am flattered.

B: What have you learned about yourself after going through this process?

N: That I am a lot stronger than I think. Had some hard times trying to get this book out, but I put my faith in God and I knew with him all will come to pass.

B: I am sure most writers would love to know the answer to this question. How different is your fantasy from the reality of becoming a published author?

We both laughed, because we knew. Show me a writer and I would show you someone who now knows the difference between fantasy and reality. I, for one, thought long ago, that all I ever needed to do was write the book and that would be it.

N: I went through some very discouraging periods when nothing seemed to be happening. Then I met someone who wanted to take a chance on me. I didn’t think my book would be in so many different stores; Borders, Wal-mart, Target, Barnes & Noble etc. My publishing company is doing a great job!

B: What’s next for you, any new projects?

N: I am working on a sequel to HAPPILY EVER NOW and in the process of finishing it... Read On>
